When my friend Shivadas first told me about a place serving some of the best parotta beef near Kolenchery, I wasn’t entirely convinced.

After all, Ernakulam district has hundreds of restaurants serving parotta and beef curry. Was it really worth driving from Kochi or other parts of Ernakulam just to try another parotta and beef combination?

Shivadas thought so.

In fact, he kept insisting that I visit Best Hotel in Pattimattom and experience what he believed was the best parotta beef near Kolenchery. Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, and we decided to find out for ourselves.

Shivadas, his brother, one of their friends, Arun, and I set off towards Pattimattom early in the morning.

Firewood Cooking at Best Hotel, Pattimattom

When we reached Best Hotel around 9 AM, preparations for the day were already in full swing.

Fresh parottas were being prepared over a traditional firewood stove. Nearby, a large vessel of beef curry was slowly simmering over another firewood oven. Lunch curries and biryani were also being prepared for the afternoon crowd.

One of the things I immediately liked about the place was the traditional cooking process. Firewood cooking is becoming increasingly rare, and it often adds a unique flavour to Kerala dishes.

Parotta was already available by the time we arrived. However, the beef curry needed a little more time.

Usually, the beef curry is ready around 10:30 in the morning, but on the day of our visit, it took slightly longer. We finally got our much-awaited parotta and beef curry around 11 AM.

Is This the Best Parotta Beef Near Kolenchery?

The first bite answered that question.

The parotta was soft, flaky, and beautifully layered. It had everything that Kerala parotta lovers look for.

The beef curry, however, was the real hero of the meal.

Rich, flavourful, and deeply satisfying, it was one of the finest beef curries I have tasted in recent years. The curry was packed with flavour without becoming overly spicy, and it paired perfectly with the fresh parottas.

Many restaurants serve good parotta.

Many restaurants serve good beef curry.

Very few manage to excel at both.

That is what makes Best Hotel stand out among places serving best parotta beef near Kolenchery.

We Also Tried Chicken Roast and Biryani

Apart from the parotta and beef curry, we also tried Chicken Roast and Chicken Biryani.

Both dishes were enjoyable and well-prepared. The Chicken Roast had good flavour, while the biryani offered a satisfying meal option for lunch.

However, if I’m being completely honest, the parotta and beef curry overshadowed everything else we tried that day.

Even after tasting multiple dishes, the conversation kept returning to the beef curry.
