When we are on our travels in the summer, we would be on the lookout for any juice shops serving delicious cool drinks. Having a glass of cold fruit juice or shake would give us relief from the scorching heat of the sun. We come across many shops by the roadside serving different varieties of fruit juices to quench our thirst. Juice Kada in Alappuzha is one such shop serving delicious fruit juices and shakes. The shop is located exactly at a place called Ambanakulangara and it has a vast collection of fruits and some of those are not seen in many of the juice shops across the state.
We came to know about this shop from an Instagram video by the channel Alappuzha Foodie. I choose to have an Avocado shake from the list of items available through the shop. Although they have a dining area available inside the shop, I took myself to the front of the shop to check out the list of fruits displayed in the front. Different varieties of fruits like Avocado, Custard apple, Orange, Mango, Apple, Chikku and various kinds of bananas were on display. The presence of Persimmon fruits was something quite unique as those were not commonly seen in any other juice shops.
The long list of fruit juices was the main attraction of this shop and Avocado is the most famous juice or Shake variety available through this store. Tutti frutti and cashew nut pieces were sprinkled over the shake for an attractive experience. The crunchy nature of cashew nuts and the sweetness of Tutti frutti gave an improved taste to the shake. After having the Avocado shake I have also ordered the Chikku shake. Even though it was good, I felt the taste of the Avocado shake was much more superior to the Chikku variety.
We have seen the process of making the Avocado shake. Refrigerated thick milk and avocado were added to a juicer jar along with sugar and Horlicks to make the delicious avocado shake. The mild taste of Horlicks used in the shake is giving it an attractive flavour which really takes this dish to another level. My friend, Abhilash ordered Badam shake and it had a slightly high sweet flavour which made it distinct from other varieties. Juice Kada in Ambanakulangara would surely be an amazing food spot for having sweet and cold fruit juices on these hot summer days.
