Edele Hotel Calicut, Let’s have an early Breakfast of Soft Puttu and Beef

If you are in Kozhikode and are planning to have an early breakfast, then I will suggest Edele Hotel Calicut for delicious hot steamy Puttu, Uppumavu and beef. The rich flavour of back pepper and onion is what’s giving the beef, the lip-smacking feel. Edele Hotel Calicut will be open very early from 5.30 in the morning. When I was asked to choose a food item from the menu, I was a bit confused as I could see tasty Parotta and steamy rice Puttu. I have gone for Puttu and beef, and let me tell you something, it was awesome.

Pazham Pori and Beef is another famous recipe combination which you can have from Edele Hotel. The sweetness of ripe banana takes care of the spiciness in beef and it’s quite refreshing. If you are looking to have Kerala Parotta for breakfast, it’s also available with beef roast. Some of my friends recommended this restaurant and I am happy to say that Edele Hotel doesn’t disappoint. The exact location of Edele Hotel is in Kuttichira, Calicut (Kozhikode). A few years back, I visited Kuttichira for tasting the famous Kuttichira Biriyani. Also, I remember my visit to Champion Hotel in Kuttichira.

When you get to Edele Hotel, you could see a collection of food items displayed at the entrance. They make use of two kitchen’s to prepare food, one of them takes care of Pazham pori and Beef recipes. Meanwhile, Puttu and Parotta is being made in the second kitchen. Beef is cooked in two spots, the initial cooking is done in the main kitchen. Once the beef is cooked and ready, it’s sauteed in coconut oil with curry leaves and sliced green chillies, and this enhances the flavour. Three brothers are in charge of this restaurant. Two of them take care of the cooking part and the other one handles the billing section.

The place was crowded since early morning when we got there. Beef Biriyani will be served on Friday noontime after the Namaz prayers. Biriyani is made by people who were cooking for marriage functions. Also, it was quite fascinating to hear that the biriyani will be over within one and a half hours. Such was the acceptance of Edele Hotel. It was quite evident, with the way people come in numbers to have breakfast from this food spot. Breakfast recipes will be available from morning 5.30 am to 9 am. Even though the restaurant opens very early, it was amazing to see so many people having their breakfast at this time of the hour.

Parking facility is not available for this food spot and you would have to make a small walk to get to the restaurant. Customers were waiting to have a seat, while we were having our breakfast. It’s a restaurant serving delicious food combinations at a reasonable cost.
